Chloe Franklin is a quiet nerd whose idea of a good time is
a Twilight Zone marathon and a summer-long book binge. Losing herself in
a fictional world helps her cope with her mom's deployment, her dad's demanding
job, and historical renovations on her house. To add to the chaos, her
impossible crush Todd is helping with construction and will be spending the
entire summer with her. When Todd shows up at her fifteenth birthday dinner and
reveals that he's a bigger nerd than she is, impossible becomes probable. But
Todd isn't the only unexpected guest. After days of cold drafts, shifting
shadows, and whispers, Chloe sees the ghost of a psychotic woman who demands
her help. With Todd by her side, Chloe becomes embroiled in a
hundred-year-old mystery that unveils a tragic romance and devastating
